William Agar 1857-1861

Born in Bury 22nd July 1823, William Agar was an established clock maker in Bury, he moved to 84 Deansgate, Bolton.

Starting off listing his clocks as Bury and Bolton.

He is listed as trading  in Bolton 1857-1861.

His firm later became William Agar & Co of Bolton.

William Ager of Bury & Bolton 1861 fusee with a case by Thomas Holliday of Clerkenwell.Interestingly the movement is listed as Bury, and so could have been new old stock, or possible the Bury works may have continued alongside the Bolton production.
