Thomas was born in Horwich on 21st March in 1846 and lived in Lee Lane. By 1891 he was listed as a Master Watch and Clock Maker living in Hindley, then Wigan by 1891.
Living and trading at 20 Standishgate, Wigan were Thomas Farnworth and his family, his wife Fanny, and children, Randolph watchmaker, Annie, Walter watchmakers apprentice, Albert watchmakers apprentice, Frederich watchmakers apprentice, Leonard, and Thomas.
Son Randolph returned to Horwich to set up business at Winter Hey Lane.
A silver pocket watch engraved – Farnworth Brothers, Wigan and assayed in 1901.
It is said that he died on the 3rd February 1920 in Horwich.
