Solomon Lemon was born in Liverpool in 1802 to German immigrant parents Isiah and Sarah. Both Solomon and his brother Asher anglicised their names.

Samuel is reported to have died after a long illness on 3rd July 1832 aged only 29 years.
Samuel is the Brother of Authur Lemon, also a clockmaker in Bolton.
