Listed as a watchmaker and boarding at the Saddle Inn, 38 Bradshawgate in 1891. Alfred, born in Plymouth, is possibly related to the clockmaker Albert Thomas Giles, who also resided at the Saddle but in 1881.
Being adjacent to number 36, where Richard Young and Joseph Preston were living, it is also possible he was working for them, and living in the hotel.
The original Saddle Inn on Bradshawgate 1890’s

There are no known examples of his work.
