William was married and traded as a Watchmaker from Manor Street in Little Bolton in 1836, presumably related John Ashall who also worked there. His watches were signed ‘William Ashall of Bolton’
He moved on to Churchgate in 1838, then back to Manor St, by 1840, and on to 11 Bank Street in 1841 and he remained there through 1842.
He was declared insolvent in July 1843, and Bankrupt in August of that year, but was again trading at 4 Manor Street in 1848, and then at 38 Market St from 1851 to 1853.
