Thomas Pilkington (1825-1881)

Thomas Pilkington Watchmaker and Jeweller lived with his family at 12 North View on Bury Road, he was followed into the trade by his son Joseph, and also his own brother Samuel Pilkington (or his son) who all worked together from the premises at Bury Road Tonge, and at 101 Higher Bridge Street in Bolton. They sold and repaired Clocks, Watches and barometers. Thomas also sold spectacles and eyeglasses!

At least one clock by Thomas Pilkington is known:

An 8 day longcase clock, 92 inches high, painted dial with moon phases, Thos Pilkington, Bolton scripted on face, mahogany case, reeded columns on sides of cap, second and date rings, floral paintings on corners of dial, bell ringer.
