Thomas Gardner was a Watch Finisher by trade and came from a family of Watchmakers and Watch Finishers. His father also named Thomas Gardner, was a watchmaker from Northampton, who worked in Coventry, where Thomas was born in 1859 and was married in 1884.
By 1901 Thomas and his wife Clara Annie Yardley, were living and working in Bolton at 17 Devon Street, and were there when Henry Lee (1852) also lived there at No 4.
By 1911 they lived at 54 Court Street in Bolton
Thomas died in Bolton during 1927 aged 68.
