Samuel Monk Bolton (1834 – 1841)

Samuel Monk was listed working at Deansgate in 1834 and Crown Street in 1838, followed by Great Moor Street in 1841. His times at Deansgate and Crown Street coincide with his brother John Monk.

Samuel is also known to have made clocks in his own name.

Belmont Church Clock was made by Monk of Bolton, possibly at the hand of Samuel.

Turret Clock by Monk of Bolton for St Peter’s Church, Belmont, purchased in 1861 by John Hick of Hick Hargreaves who lived at Hill Top House, in Belmont.
