Joseph Thomas Hardman started off as a watch Jobber and finally became Watchmaker by 1891.
He wed Annie Mulvey at St Georges Church, Little Bolton on 20th May 1891, and lived at 117 Higher Bridge Street when he married.
Living firstly in Pleasant Street, then Lonsdale Road, Halliwell, and later St Helens Road.
He died November 25th 1948
There are no known examples of his work.
His son Robert Hardman was also an Apprentice Jeweller in 1911, he and his brother Joseph Stanley Hardman went on to become a Funeral Directors Presumably the origin of the well known firm of Hardman’s Funerals in Bolton.
