George Watts was a Clockmaker and Jeweller born in Bolton in January 1854.
In 1883 and 1886 George was called as an expert witness, as a silversmith, for a case involving Edward Marsden for uttering counterfeit coins.

In 1871 George was living at home in Weston street listed as a Watchmakers Apprentice.
In 1875 George married Mary Anne Sharrock
By 1881 he was married to Mary Anne and living at 55 Church Street, Little Bolton as a Watchmaker.
In 1883 again he was called as an expert witnessing the prosecution of Jane Harrison.
In 1891 he was listed at number 17 Market St, Watchmaker and Jeweller.
Later in the year 1894 during October, George Watts Watchmaker and Jeweller, of Bridge Street, Bolton, was subject to Receiving Orders and Adjudications under Bankruptcy Legislation.
