There are two Agar and Sons, one, Thomas and Mary Agar & Sons, of Bury, and Agar & Sons Bolton. There are various partnerships and father son working relationships in the family, so at this stage its not clear if the link is Mary, and her family after she moved to Bolton, or another partnership modelled on the Bury name between later generations such as John and his sons working together.
Agar & Sons Bolton were listed in the local directory’s at number 84 Deansgate in 1869, an address associated with the family.
