John Whalley was listed as a Master Clockmaker working in Bolton, and he took on as his apprentice one Henry Warburton in 1722.
Henry was apprenticed on 1st December 1721 for seven years for a fee of £10. Henry went on to greater things working in Liverpool and Wolverhampton.
