John Trickett was born in Southport on 2nd May 1875, and he trained to be an apprentice as a watchmaker. He is listed in the 1891 census as an apprentice to a watchmaker, living with his older brother Alexander at 49 Upper Aughton Road.
On 7th October 1896 John married Annie Shields who died in 1900, following which he moved to Rhyl in Wales, before marrying Martha Winstanley on 3rd August 1904.
On 13th August 1905 they lived at 165 Buckley Court Farnworth.
John Trickett and Martha were living at 51-53 Brackley Street Farnworth in 1911.

They emigrated the UK finally in 1913 and settled in Lansing, Michigan, where Martha died on 15th January 1926, with John dying on 3rd May 1927.
