John Gilbert was born in Whitwick Leicestershire in 1803 and he listed as a Watchmaker at the marriage of his daughter Margaret on 30th March 1872.
The family were living at Blair New Road, Kearsley.
John Gilbert died in December 1874
There are no other mentions of his trade, and no examples of his work have been found.
