John and William Agar a father and son team from Bury established a store in Bolton, the 1876 Post Office Directory lists them as Watchmakers and Jewellers at 84 Deansgate.

John Agar from this partnership was from 60 Wyndham Street Bury, while William Agar was from 17 Bolton Street Bury.
William later went on to partnership with his mother Mary Agar as William Agar & Co.
