James Mancor was Born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1801 and was listed as a Watchmaker in 1834, operating from No. 3 Bridge Street in Bolton. He became a member of the Freemasons in 1827, joining the nchor and Hope Lodge.
He was married to his wife Margaret Hamilton in Ayr, on 27 Sep 1828, Margaret originally came from Ayr.
James was later described as a Clock and Watchmaker.
James appears to have died in Bolton on 25th Dec 1863, at his home in 58 Dalton Terrace Haulgh, Bolton. He died with effects of under £100. He was described as a Watchmaker at the time of death.
One example of his work is known to survive, an impressively sized eight day Longcase Clock, by James Mancor Bolton.
