J Wylde has appeared from the confusion of names to be a clockmaker in his own right. Further research continues into his history.
An oak longcase clock with Swan Neck pediment and hand painted glass frieze fitted with an Eight Day movement striking on the hour made by J. Wylde of Bolton, the 12 O’Clock Moon, similar to a Halifax moon in the white painted dial, and had painted coloured spandrels of flowers, with a subsidiary date dial indicated by a hand.
Research on the maker continues.
