A watch number 182 by John Lee was stolen in May 1782, it was taken from Robert Lever, an innkeeper and licensee of the Bull’s Head during this period, was part of a prominent local family whose surname is deeply intertwined with Bolton’s history. In the 1780s, the “Bulls Head” name was most famously associated with Bolton’s principal coaching inn in the town centre, located at Market Place/High Street.
