John Lowe was the son of Moses Lowe a miner from Middle Hulton, born in Little Hulton in 1877, he initially followed his father into the mines, but by the time of his marriage in 1901 he was a Watchmaker.
in 1890 he was recorded as a Pawnbroker at 4 Market St. Chowbent
On 10th August 1901 aged 24 he married Betsy Alice Wharmby from Little Hulton. at St Paul’s Peel’ Little Hulton.
They moved to 27 Buckley Street, Farnworth where he continued his trade as a watchmaker/repairer into 1911.
