Thomas Manchester was both a watchmaker and clockmaker, the son of William Manchester, who was also a Watchmaker. Thomas worked out of his home in 2 Howell Croft during 1832- 1843, then 7 Ridgeway Gates in Bolton during the years 1851-1861. He was also listed as a beer retailer too.

A mahogany hexagonal and inlaid wall clock having an eight-day duration, single-fusee timepiece movement with anchor escapement, the fourteen-inch round painted dial having black Roman numerals, blued-steel moon hands and indistinctly signed T. Manchester, Bolton., the hexagonal mahogany case with brass inlaid decoration, diameter 48cm.
Thomas Manchester died and was buried in St Mary’s Deane on the 11th March 1870
