Ruff & Tritschler -1847

Ferdinand Ruff and John Tritschler established a partnership selling clocks. Ferdinand was a Commercial Traveller from John Tritschler’s home town of Baden-Baden.

Together they were listed as Clock Dealers Watchmakers and Manufacturers, in Bradshwagate and dissolved their partnership on 9th Oct 1847.

Ruff went on to become the Landlord of the Saddle Inn in Bradshawgate, while John Tritschler absorbed their debts and went on to run the business as his own.

Sadly Ferdinand Ruff died in 1852, leaving his widow Martha running the Saddle Inn, where an admirer later committed suicide.
