A partnership between George Monk, and Egerton C. Gilbert of Bradford Terrace Haulgh, often George is mistakenly linked to the Gilbert Watch Co. of America, although they may have sold their products.
Monk and Gilbert were working out of number 8 Deansgate, and were probably displaced by the expansion of Whitheads store which eventually shared the block with Prestons..
