Unusually John James Clough is listed as a Watchmaker, and in 1895 listed as a wholesale seller who was situated at 72 Derby Street Bolton. He lived in 355 Blackburn Road, he later moved to Lancaster where he gave evidence at a larceny trial in 1905. He and his wife retired to Keynsham near Bristol where he died in 1922.
