James Rudd was born in Atherton in 1862. In 1884 he was living at 64 Manchester Road, Farnworth, with is Blackburn born wife Adeline, and daughters Ellen and Lilian. James was listed both as a Watchmaker & Jeweller.
James even produced bespoke key winders for his watches.

James Rudd was granted a Deed of Assigment in July Aug 1884,
By 1891 he was listed simply as a Watchmaker, still at 64 Market Street.
